How to Keep Your Hair Moisturized in Summer

Ditch heavy gels and butters

In the summer it's best to use light weight hair products. Heavy gels and butters will only weigh down your curls, cause build up and dry out your hair. Water based moisturizers will hydrate your curls and combat frizz on humid days.

After cleansing your hair, use the Emergency Miracle Treatment for long lasting moisture and to fight frizz. UV filters found in the formula also protects your hair from sun damage.

  • Cool tip: place your leave in conditioner and styling products in the fridge for a refreshing sensation on your scalp that will also encourage your hair cuticles to close and lock in moisture.

Use styling products with UV protection

Did you know your hair can get sun burnt?! The sun’s rays are responsible for lightening our hair and fading the hair color that you paid good money for.

It’s important to use hair products that have natural UV protectants. Note that products that promise heat protection are not the same as UV protectants. Always take a look at your products and see if they have a SPF factor or UV Protection.

Le Deux uses sunflower seed extract as a UVA and UVB protectant to preserve hair color and sweet pea protein to hydrate, smooth and define unruly hair.

Refresh your hair weekly

It’s important during hot months to wash your hair regularly to remove sweat, product build up and refresh your scalp. If not, you run the risk of frizzy, dry and sun burnt hair. All of which can lead to hair breakage.

The Moisture Shampoo is a great summer option because of it's UVA/B protection. The shampoo also uses coconut milk to create a barrier around hair strands for added protection against breakage while rhodochrosite balance moisture levels.
