Your New Curly Hair Routine

Cleanse
Cleansing your hair is so important to your hair care routine and sadly not many people are doing it right. A proper moisturizing shampoo will remove dirt, product residue, and dead skin cells without stripping you hair of its natural oils. Co-washing or conditioner washing is not always enough to remove build up and your scalp needs to be able to breathe in order for healthy hair to grow.

I recommend shampooing your hair every 7-10 days to prevent build up.

Condition
We all know that conditioners provide a ton benefits to our hair like detangling, frizz reduction, and hydration. Moisture is VITAL to achieving healthy growing curls.

My secret for growing healthy curls fast is to use a deep conditioner weekly. Deep conditioners are intensive treatments that will penetrate hydration and nutrition into your hair. This will ensure your hair stays moisturized and manageable for longer, shielding it from damage.

Moisturize
In between wash days, your hair will start to lose moisture. A good  leave-in conditioner will have water as the first ingredient and be light weight so it won't weigh your hair down. You can use a leave-in whenever your hair needs a pick me up.

Seal
A light weight oil is the last step for sealing in all the moisture you pour into your hair and scalp. An oil will protect your hair from damage while adding shine, and reducing frizz.

Trim
Of course we can't forget to book our seasonal trims. No matter how much we try, split ends and damage happens through daily wear and tear. A trim every 3 months will not only get rid of damage but prevent it from traveling up the rest of your hair, which will require a big chop later.
